Do toddler's like to hoard things?

November 5th, 2010 at 11:57 am

My sweet son Asher lately has been wanting to tote his little animals everywhere even to bed and the first night was ok but it's getting out of hand. He has a talking Rex, a dinosaur he calls Saur, a plastic snake, Woody and talking Buzz and a blanket? So far we've had to round up the gang every night before bed. He knows when one is missing. This just seems silly.

I managed to save $3.00 the past three days for not smoking. So I will add that to the challenge.

Previous total: $3.00
Today $3.00
Total $6.00
Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful fall weather it's lovely in South Carolina.

I think it's possible but why not try to get him to put them to bed beside his bed so he can see them from his bed but not in his bed. Allow only one in his bed at a time.

My granddaughter has all of hers in a toy cradle, but wants to put them up with her on the love seat when she is going to "read books". Since living here at grandma's for a while, she can do whatever she wants! If I need to move them, I just scoop them all up and put them back in play cradle.

That is some wonderful advice. Thank you.

We do something similar to TightwadKitty with our daughter. She has her dollies and animals lined up on the extra bed in her room, and she can pick ONE of them to snuggle with when it is bedtime. This is the rule, and she knows in advance so it leads to no craziness. That way we have some insurance that she's comforted at bedtime, but not swimming in (and/or sleeping on top of) toys... Good luck!
